Obama's 2nd General Election Ad, "Dignity" - Another whooper folks!

"he passed a Law"...to move people from welfare to work.

Above is Obama's second General Election Ad being ran now in 18 States -
Alaska, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.

Just as in Obama's first General Elections Ad regarding the 'wounded troops' Public Law that he said he passed - that he never even bothered to Vote for at all - Obama has "pulled a Barry" in this AD too, folks. In fact this same welfare reform Law that he touts in this second AD is mentioned in his First Ad too.

The dawgone News and many many write ups say he flip floped on this welfare reform issue and switched from being For it now - when he used to be against it.
They quickly say he is courting the conservative base and has moved to the 'center' justifying his switched position in this AD.

Huh?? Not so quick. Wait. Back up.

This AD clearly states that "he passed a Law"...to move people from welfare to work.

He used to be against it- but he Passed it?

He didn't "switch" - he Lied again. And he just keeps getting away with it. Thanks in large part to Media surrogates.

At Least Fox got the gist of it right...which left other questions in it's wording.

Barack Obama is championing welfare reform in his new television ad titled "Dignity." The ad says that Obama "passed a law to move people from welfare to work — slashed the rolls by 80 percent."

But the television spot fails to mention that Obama resisted the very welfare reform bill that led to the reduction in the caseload. Back in 1996, President Bill Clinton signed a ...
(Republican crafted federal welfare reform Bill) in an effort to make welfare what he called "a second chance, not a way of life."

But then-Illinois state Senator Obama told the Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper that year that Mr. Clinton's stance on welfare was "disturbing."

And on May 31, 1997 Obama said on the floor of the Illinois state Senate, "I probably would not have supported the federal legislation."

...Obama:..."I probably would not have supported the... "??

Barry, it doesn't even sound like you were "present".

Well, now wait a darn second here - the Bill was signed in 1996 and, hum, uh, Obama was not even elected to the Illinois State Senate until 1997.

96...97...96...97...96...

Let me get out my ole typical MS calculator here - and

Nope, it sure doesn't seem to add up that you 'passed' that there referenced welfare reform law to me, professor.

It does appear that Obama's actual contribution to a differently worded tack-on welfare Bill, later on in '97, was for Determining Which Felons Would Be Eligible For Welfare, And Under What Conditions.

Clever to later add on some rider Pork, to a Bill he would not have supported, and then lay claim to the whole "disturbing" package as an 'achievemnet' of his own.

Exagerated rhetoric, or Con-ing America?

You decide.

One thing we can say for certain is if Obama had had his way, the 1996 Bill would NOT have been Passed, thus his second General Election Ad, is just more ObamaBunk.

How do you sprrrell convoluted, pathological confabulator?

Dignity - this guy doesn't have a clue what it means.

greybeard - I am slowly working my way through Obama's book (Dreams from my father) and wonder, has anyone really read it? It shows him for the racist liar he is. I can't believe anyone is falling for this shallow and hateful person. It does however explain why and how he hooked up with his wife - they are cut from the same cloth. He hates himself, his heritage and will make everyone pay for it if he becomes President. And the way he is denying the supposed 'beliefs' he has held - makes me belive his real beliefs are deeply hidden. Do you know if there is any website (other than your blog) discussing his book? I just hope that more and more people realize how lying this Typical Political Person is.

Hiya wardmama!

I waffel back and forth between 'does he hate himself' or was it just a way to erase his white half so the local voters he courted would accept him into the fold. It wasn't caucasians who asked: "Is he black enough?" It was Blacks who questioned this.
He had this same problem when organizing church's. He had to get rid of 3 whites that worked with him - because the churchs balked at any 'message' coming from non black organizers. It really gets hard to tell with him floppin around what he's for what he's still against. He will use who he has to and trash them when he has too.
One thing is sure.

Obama is only interested in Obama.

"..My individual salvation is not going to come about without a collective salvation for the country."

The guy is just jam packed with taking individualism away and giving it to 'him' as our savior.

I think there are lots of people 'becoming' aware of obama's Book. But it's really hard to say. I have read lots of blogs with hundreds to 10's of thousands total - who know, and point out the Books racist vernacular - weather millions are aware (which sure is needed) I don't know.
They won't learn it from the News for sure.
I have read Obama supporters on Blogs say it is an amazing Book. So too on the NEWS! They spin it into an excusable young man trying to find his place, and arrived after youthful struggle & experiment to become a champion.
The Obama supporters don't seem to be aware of a single line of racism in the Book. HUH? yer a liar! yer jest a racist! (some of them spell like me)
The most militant of them recognize the racism but say the black man is NEVER a racist because the black man has every right to say what he says for what was done to them (or at least to someone they didn't know 200 years ago). Something like Obama's Race speech where Wright/ and blacks are entitled because of their Taught anger.

A main problem with the Obama Book is that he "CHANGED" it once he saw he had a chance at higher ambitions then Local Chicago exceptable race based politics.
The original Book from 1995 is not the same Book that is out now. It was 'changed' in 2004 , so too are the electronic Versions that people have done 'word searchs' in-while not finding certain internet quotes.

These people are unaware that Obama "made CHANGES" to re-editions. I'd have to refind his quote on the re-writting-re-editing- but he states something like - "There were some things I said that made me cringe" -
You can bet Those things were removed for sure.

So you will find some people arguing that he NEVER said a certain such and such 'quote' because, "I have the Book, and That ain't in there- you liar" etc.

One of the quotes passed around of arguable contention is:
"I found solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother’s race."

Now, aT LEAST ALL OF THE FACTcHECK TYPE SITES ( I read) who write that this quote does not exist in the Book or in electronic e-Books ( and they say so to impune emails and bloggers and state they are all spreading Lies) use as their reference source Book Obama's 2004 edition. The re-edited-redacted edition.

Weather it is in the 1995 edition I don't know - but I will find a 1995-96 edition one day. (The first draft Obama's Mother reviewed musta been even better.)

"Do you know if there is any website (other than your blog) discussing his book?"

I've read so much in 5 months I can't recall specifics on pure BOOK discussion. Lots of comments everywhere though:

It's an interesting question, So I checked to see how many people might be quoting from the Book:
Here is one such quote from his Book:
"That’s just how white folks will do you."
Results 1 - 10 of about 285

"I had learned not to care. I blew a few smoke rings, remembering those years. Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it. "
Results 1 - 10 of about 147

"I knew as well that traveling down the road to self-respect, my own white blood, would never recede into mere abstraction."
Results 1 - 10 of about 29 for
(strange- google didn't include MY page with this quote in the 29 returns- google games?)

Well I would have to say in just those few examples, wardmama, that not too many people are quoting directly from Obamas Book. But it all depends on 'keywords' I suppose too.

using Obama "dreams from my father" Results 1 - 10 of about 511,000

or: Obama "dreams from my father" quotes Results 1 - 10 of about 60,500

and then, there at least 22,000 people who have referenced the Title incorrectly using "of" rather than "from"
Obama "dreams of my father" quotes

All in all I'd say quite a few talking about it but maybe not quotin from it - surely not nearly enough.

You may already know these from over @ sweetness and Light- but here are two extremely informative sites:

Have a great family 4th!!
